June 24th, 2010 - GK3s are available now at Analogue Haven. Other dealers to follow in a couple weeks. Changes from GK2 to GK3: slightly larger diecast enclosure, tweaked analog circuits and waveforms, little longer waveform record time, preamp gain knob (internal), "Random" setting replaces "divide by 5". I might have forgotten to pack the instruction sheet in one or two boxes. If yours is missing, I'm really sorry and you can download it here.

May 25th, 2010 - Just picked up the screenprinted enclosures and they did an amazing job like usual. Still waiting on built pcbs from my assembler and it's going to be another week until I get them.

Mar. 27th, 2010 - This is my last update that is pushed to RSS. I don't have RSS automated and I don't want to continue the manual text file updates to do it. Instead, I setup a newsletter/mailing-list, which I'll use to send availability announcements. I might also start a twitter or facebook if people want it and it makes sense. To subscribe to the newsletter, send an email to newsletter-subscribe@lightfootlabs.com. There will be an email that follows with a link to click in order to confirm your subscription.

GK3 enclosures are in production now. All long lead parts in stock. Test build at my assembler's next week. Big thanks to Kosta for winning the GK2 proto charity auction!

Feb. 26th, 2010 - Lots of progress on the GK3 with the prototype built and many of the parts on order or in stock. Like the GK2, these will be sold first-come, first-served through my dealers. Availability is still a ways off. Planning to offer a small number of GK3s in grey, black, and raw metal enclosures.

Jan. 26th, 2010 - Happy New Year and thanks for your support in 2009. I'm once again running Lightfoot Labs fulltime, hopefully permanently this time. New goatkeepers with diecast enclosure and new circuitboards are still a few months off, but I'm trying to get them out as soon as possible. New pedal and two new eurorack synth modules in development, for release later in the year. Also have a prototype GK2 pedal up on ebay here: ebay auction. All of the final sale price goes to Partners in Health.

Jul. 30th, 2009 - GK2s at Analogue Haven sold out in an hour this time. If you're in Japan, there is a chance 2ndStaff might have a couple left. Other than that, that's it for this run of the GK2. I'll be starting another run of Goatkeepers later in the year and hopefully also release a new design or two. The GK3 will be the same as the GK2, except in a slightly larger, but lighter weight diecast enclosure. Thank you for your support.

Jul. 12th, 2009 - GK2s will be on sale at Analogue Haven at 6:30PM Pacific time, Monday the 13th (tomorrow). Sorry for the short notice.

Jun. 19th, 2009 - Crush the Button has received their order of 20 GK2's. I believe most of their stock was preordered, but as of right now they appear to have 4 left in stock. In the next few days I'm going to be shipping an order to 2ndStaff in Japan. After that I'll be getting Analogue Haven's second order ready to ship in around 2-3 weeks.

Jun. 1st, 2009 - Yudy Chen has a nice review of the GK2 up at glitchathon with demo videos. He also has the GK audio samples with descriptions in a much easier to read format here and a review of the 4ms Atoner.

May 31st, 2009 - Away from production for a little while, but getting back on track now. Should be shipping some GK2's to 2nd Staff and Crush the Button a week from now. Added a dealers page.

Apr. 14th, 2009 - GK2s were delivered yesterday and sold out 2 hours later. I knew they wouldn't be collecting dust on the shelves, but this was very unexpected. Looking at adding a European dealer to receive a portion of the next 50. Thanks to everyone for your support and watch for more details in a couple weeks.

Apr. 11th, 2009 - 50 GK2s are built up, tested and will be delivered to analoguehaven.com in the next few days. Price is $340 US. Download the user's guide.

Mar. 28th, 2009 - GK2 is in production now. Boards are finished, pots need soldering, final assembly and testing needs to be done. Availability should be 2 weeks. Click here for alternate view.

Jan. 28th, 2009 - Unfortunately the GK2 jacks which have been on order since mid September of last year have now again been delayed several more weeks. Several people have asked about a waiting list and I'm sorry, but I just don't have the additional time required to do that sort of thing. However, the website does have an RSS feed that you can subscribe to. Click here http://lightfootlabs.com/rss.xml or the RSS icon in your browser's URL field. The GK2 run is quite large (150 pieces) so I believe everyone that's been waiting will be able to get one. I've decided to make this the only production run of the the "small box" goatkeeper. The next one will return to the larger Hammond DD box, as the custom box was far more trouble than I care to deal with again.

Jan. 19th, 2009 - Circuit boards are in. A couple components still need to be tweaked before it's finalized. Building likely to start in a couple weeks.

Nov. 20th, 2008 - Finishing up testing of GK2. This is the LFO output into an oscilloscope to check the waveshape recorder...

Nov. 1st, 2008 - Some additional information on GK2... Due to complexity and budgeting issues there will only be one GK2 model. This model will have all the "expanded" features and will be priced a little higher than the previous basic model. The enclosure is 16 gauge steel with polished/welded seams, white powdercoat, baked on screenprint and laser-cut lexan rear panel. There are still a few things that need to be corrected before the remainder of the parts are ordered and the boards are assembled. Availability is unknown... hopefully soon, but please don't count on it being before the end of the year.

Oct. 9th, 2008 - I'll be away from email for the next two weeks. I will respond to all emails when I get back.

Sep. 2nd, 2008 - Small update; the enclosures are being stripped, recoated and reprinted due to some quality issues. This might go on forever. I know it seems like it is.

Aug. 8th, 2008 - I'll be working on Lightfoot Labs full-time for the next 2 months. The additional time will hopefully get this project to where it should've been a year ago. Goatkeeper will be available at Analogue Haven and 2nd Staff in Japan. Availability at 2nd Staff will be a couple months after Analogue Haven. This is just a precaution, as any unforeseen hiccups will be much easier to correct.

I'm looking into either a mailing list or setting up the website with an RSS feed. In the meantime, if you are waiting for the new GK, check back here every couple weeks.

I received a copy of the very cool new Batcomputer album from Justin Lloyd and company. It's very effect heavy with loads of interesting textures and super nice playing. Check out their myspace page and also their unmastered version of "Comic Sans MS" below.

May 20th, 2008 - Justin Lloyd from Batcomputer sent me this unmastered version of a track off their forthcoming album. Goatkeeper in intro.

Apr. 22nd, 2008 - Project is slowly progressing. Enclosures are being built now. Sorry it's taken so long. There will be two versions built: Basic and Expanded. Basic is essentially the same as the original GK. Expanded will have an input for CV controlled rate, LFO CV output, and input for external audio sync.

Jan. 13th, 2008 - First, there is still no projected availability date. The good news is that due to numerous requests, I've added an expression (Control Voltage) input for rate control on GK2.

Nov. 26th, 2007 - Unfortunately, GK2 will not be available until sometime next year. Hopefully sometime this Winter, but there is no concrete date (edit: Winter, not Spring).

Sep. 23rd, 2007 - New goatkeepers (GK2) have been delayed a few months while undergoing significant redesign. Preview:

Sep. 20th, 2007 - This is nice shot of Lilu Dallas guitarist, Justin Lloyd, taken during their Summer 2007 tour. These guys are the only band I'm aware of with two guitarists both using goatkeepers.

Jun. 24th, 2007 - Melt-Banana & Lightfoot Labs. Quite possibly my favorite band to see live, Melt-Banana consistently put on the most jaw-dropping, crazy live music shows on planet earth. Go see them if they haven't already played your area. Thanks to Jana Miller (click for complete photo set) for taking some excellent photos.

Jun. 23rd, 2007 - First run of Goatkeeper is sold out. Thanks to everyone that purchased one. New units should be available late summer/early fall.

Apr. 21st, 2007 - New Goatkeeper review and video demo courtesy of Dave from Lilu Dallas. Much thanks!

Apr. 14th, 2007 - Goatkeeper pdf manual download.

Mar. 31st, 2007 - Goatkeeper is now available only through ANALOGUE HAVEN. If you're in the Southern California area, be sure to check it out.
